John C. Wyne's last name is sometimes spelt as Wine when listed in people's family tree works. I used Wyne as that is the spelling used on marriage license (online copy), census reports, death certificate, by the girls, and on his headstone in South Park Cemetery (inscribed as "Father" so may be a hint there about how the girls came to regard their adoptive parents). Eliza C. Wampler Wyne, according to her death certificate, was buried in the same cemetery in Harris County, Texas.
I used two variations of Ziegler for the mothers of John C. Wyne and Eliza C. Wampler per how they were used in relation to those women. For example: Lydia's maiden name is spelt Zigler in her death notice - Eliza C. is listed as Mrs. Eliza C. Wampler of Missouri City, Texas - so mistakenly listed by her maiden name. Whereas Elizabeth's maiden name was Zigler in the 1906 copy of The Ziegler Family Record (which also shared the spelling of Wine for the Wyne family) but along the way an "e" came (back) in.
Anyway - just sharing that tidbit as sometimes you have to switch back and forth in spelling thoughts to help uncover some information.
