Flint Genealogical Society
The Flint Genealogical Society will be meeting March 1, 2011, 7 p.m. at the Burton Senior Citizens Center, 3410 S Grand Traverse, Burton, MI.David Irwin will be speaking on the Scots-Irish peoples.He will describe their beginnings in the Lowlands of Scotland from about 1600 to their first migration from Ulster to America after the revolution in the 1790s.He will also tell about the migrations of Scots-Irishto Canada and those who settled in Michigan, especially in the thumb area in the 1880s.He is a graduate of Michigan State University and Professional Genealogist, Historian, Author, Speaker and Consultant with over 30 years of genealogical experience.Mr. Irwin has had training through Boston University -Certificate Program in Genealogical Research.
