I am trying to find anyone who is related to a family by the name of Johnakin or Johnikin in the South/North Carolina area.I am descended from a Tommie Jane Johnakin (1874-1962) who was the daughter of Ancil and Ellen Johnakin of the Bennettsville, South Carolina area.She had atwin brother named Anson.Two other brothers were Evander and William andsistersAmanda and Ella.I am trying to determine the heritage of her ancestors.Were htey African and Native American or were they African Americans with white ancestry.This name may have really been Jurnigan or Journigan and was mispelled at the end of slavery.Please email:
