Hello. I am trying to find the family of Leah Moore, who married Christian Charles L. Good, and her sister Elizabeth, who was married to Michael Micajah Aldridge. Both of these women ended up in Dallas, Greene, or other surrounding counties in Missouri - they lived in Marshfield, Mo. Leah Moore was my great great grandmother, and she died in Missouri in 1859. (She was born in approximately 1822, and was in the 1850 Census in Missouri, living with Christian Good - age 22 - and Eliza Jones & James Jones, who were adults - and Martha Good, who was an elder sister to my great great grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Good Shook.
The Moore family came from England. I don't know when. I can't seem to find anybody who has information about this family on the Moore family website, though I"m told that there were a multitude of Moores in North Carolina. Most of the information I've seen is about people who lived at the same time or after the Moores in my family.
I've posted the following on the Aldridge family website:I'm looking for information about Elizabeth Moore, who was married to Micajah Aldridge; they lived in the mid 1800s in Marshfield, MO. Micajah took as his wards the nieces of his sister in law and her husband (Leah Moore Good and Christian Charles L. Good; Leah died in 1859 and and Christian died in 1860). One of the nieces, Nancy Elizabeth "Betty" Good Shook, was my great-great grandmother. Elizabeth Moore Aldridge had another sister in Marshfield ("Juda") who married Christian Good after Leah Moore Good died. When both of the parents were dead, Micajah was guardian to two of the daughters of his wife's sister. I have reached a dead end with Leah Moore, but was hoping that someone in the Aldridge family might have information about the parents of Elizabeth Moore Aldridge. My great-great grandmother was married at the Aldridge house.
One of Leah's great-granddaughters was told the family came from England and ended up in North Carolina.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might know something about the parents of the Moore sisters.
