John, Thanks so much for the quick response.
I will definitely keep an eye out for your George Campbell,
at this point, of course I don't have any idea who our Samuel Campbell belonged with but he was born in Canada so I will keep pursuing those Chattersons he was living with and was listed as a nephew. Hopefully, it will turn up something.
I did notice that someone that responded to something you had posted about people from mid-west going to OR/WA and I meant to mention this----My Phillips group left Lucas Co., IA (after having moved from IL )to KS and then many from that group went on to the coast of Washington and literally lived there the rest of their lives.(Now, interestingly some of this very bunch were in NE patenting land before they moved West again!) This occurred during and following the end of the WBTS. I know that they left IA because they wanted to get away from the war problems. Maybe where they arrived in KS was no better because they just kept on moving. It seems very strange to us today about how these people made decisions but wow, when they made up their minds, they seems to have been no turning back for anything.
Thanks so much for your response.
