Kearvill

I am seeking information about a relative, William Kearvell, born in Bosham Sussex England in 1855 and appearing in Sussex census records until 1881. The next entry I can find which I believe is him is in the Nebraska State Gazetteer 1890-1891, Business Directory where he is listed as a Farmer at Platte County and his surname is spelt Kearvill.
If anyone has any information I shall be very grateful and if any kind soul can suggest further places to research - many thanks.
