Saunders-Ringo Family
The Ringo Family History (14 volumes) reflects both the Saunders and Ringo famlies were in the grist milling business in Fleming County, Ky. They were closely connected with many being buried in the Saunder-Ringo cemetary located 3 miles north of Sherburne in Fleming Co, Ky.
Joseph P. Ringo, b. 1-24-1824 in Montgomedry Co, Ky married Matilda Covington Saunders on 9-10-1850. Matilda Saunders was b. 3-1-1835, she was dau of Austin R. Saunders, b. 4-7-1808, d. 3-24-1884 The Saunders Family Bible reflects Austin R. Saunders was the son of William Saunders, b. 3-12-1780 and Margaret Manzey, b. 3-12-1781. The Saunders family owned a grist mill called the Saunders and Day on the Licking River near Grange City. The Ringo gist mill, known as the Old Ringo Mill also on the Licking River.
