Saunders County McArdles 1854 to Present

Heres my story. My GG Grandfather, Patrick McArdle, came from Armough, No.Ireland in 1846/48. Settled in Philly, Pa until 1854. Moved on to Omaha, Nebraska where he, his three sons, John, James and Patrick Jr. each homestead 160 acres next to the Little Papio river in what is now western Omaha. GG Grandfather Patrick also had a daughter who married a Quinn from Elkhorn. In 1860 all three sons married a woman by the name of Kate, Katy and Katharine. A son of either John or James had an audience with Pope Pius IX and was a county supervisor or its equivalent. My G Grandfather Patrick Jr. remained a farmer and had thirteen children. My Grandfather George McArdle was the youngest and he had three sons named Howard, Sidney and Maurice and a daughter Dorothy (who still lives today at 83). My father Howard Sr. was married to Mary Jessica Wilkinson and they had seven children, Bernard, Howard Jr. Barbara, Thomas, John, Janet and Mary. Bernard had six children, Howard had eleven children, Tom had two children, Janet had three children and I had two daughters. We are scattered all over the country with Bernard and Barbara now deceased. As I understand our early history, many McArdle's came from Scotland from a place what was then called StrathArdle (now GlenArdle). McArdle's then (around 1720's) were MacArdle's. They migrated to Ireland after Bonnie Charles of England lost critical battles on behalf of the Scottish Catholics. If anyone out there can add to this or clarify what's been told here, I would appreciate your impute. Thanks for listening.
