Marcella "Jo" BANNICH
Hello,
My husband's grandmother has a problem: according to Rootsweb, GenForum, and Ancestry.com, her name is non-existent! I guess no one has ever asked about anyone with her maiden name before. I really don't know when she was born(not in S.S.D.I., either), but it was AFTER 1905, when her late husband was born. She won't tell her age. She WAS born in New York State, and I don't think she knows where. She moved to Detroit around 1930, because she met her future husband, John Winslow Bates, while working at Ford there. He was in the Service. Also, their son, James Winslow, was born in Michigan. They had no other children. I've seen pictures of her family, and remember a brother, Joe, who died at about 30 or 35. She KNOWS her name is Marcella, but said that her family always called her "Jo." Also, she thinks Bannich was her real maiden name, but was told by someone, and I won't TRY to remember who, that she was adopted by the family. Can someone help us, Please?
Thanks a Lot! Polli
