The six brothers of the Crawford family in Scotland, left their homes and went to Nova Scotia where they stayed for a short time. Later they moved to Potsdan, New York. While there in New York, they took an active part in the revolutionary war, and enlisted in the division commanded by George Washington. One of the brothers was burned at the stake by the Indians of the Ohio Valley. After the war, when the Mississippi Valley was bought from France, then they moved to Illinois. One of the brothers by the name of John Crawford had a family of nine children. (This is my G-Grandfather) Mary Lavina Lora Diana Hiram John (my Grandfather) Alonzo George Angie
Alonzo left home and went to Alaska. Hiram died before he was of age. George was the youngest, so he stayed on at his brother's place. John (when he was a young man) married Kate (Katherine) Chitwood in Hubbard, Oregon, March 29. 1880.
If anyone has any information to add or to help me find this family I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Margo Reynolds
