What was called a "funnel-shaped black moving body of nebulous character" hit the edge of Utica.

A "tunnel-shaped black moving body of nebulous character" moved rapidly (about 60 mph) E from the northern edge of Utica. At least one home was destroyed; trees were uprooted and barns destroyed. A woman and child, unable by seconds to reach the cellar, were carried away with their house and killed.
