Welsh Calvinist Methodist Ministers John and Samuel Venmore Williams

By Jill Johnson February 26, 2006 at 03:03:33

Samuel was a Welsh Calvinist Methodist Minister at Cysegr, Bethel, Caernarvon, N Wales, from 1909 to 1919. His father, John Venmore Williams was born in Llanerchymedd, Anglesey but later emigrated to Utica, New York, where he preached with others of the same persuasion, and later at Johnstown, Penn. Eventually he returned to Wales, to Rhoscolyn, Anglesey. He died on 24 Dec 1921, leaving a son, Samuel above, and a daughter, Margaret E. W Williams.
My understanding of Samuel was that he also emigrated to America or possibly Canada, about 1927/8 and it is believed his wife, Mabel, died on 22 Mar 1928 in Ontario, Canada. However, he did not grieve long, as he then married Mary Euphernia Andrews on 3 May 1929. His only son, John St John Venmore Williams had died as a 4-year-old in 1926 but I believe he also had a daughter.
If anyone knows of his activities/life during these years, or any of his descendants, I'd be delighted to hear from them!
