Re: Will do lookups
David Lester married a wealthy widow who had a large estate near Albany. She had a 3 year old son, Reuben Dunbar, when she remarried. Reuben and his step father didn't get along. The final straw was when Lester made up a will leaving the entire estate to 2 of his nephews, David (10 yrs old) and Stephen (8 yrs old). Reuben decided the only way for him to get his birthright was to dispose of the heirs. On Sept. 28, 1850, he clubbed the younger boy to death and hung the other from a tree. He was executed on Jan. 31, 1851 at Albany.Thomas Lester and Thomas Kindlon were known bandits in the Albany area. A friend of theirs was arrested for robbing a store and put in jail. They decided to get even for him. On Nov. 20, 1921, they walked into the business of Charles K. Juknos. Juknos went for his gun but Lester was faster and shot him dead. Both were executed on June 7, 1923.
