Kneebs in Wakefield, Wayne Co., 1890ish.
Hello.

I have a relative, Robert Thomas Kneebs, that was born in England in 1844.He lived in Sioux City and (apparantly) in Wakefield.I typed in the name "Kneebs" on google and found a couple of references to him, none of which shined up his reputation. One Wakefield newspaper told of his being arrested "on suspicion of being a grafter from the wild and wooly west."Interesting comment...but it goes on to say that he was released on the kind words of friends in Sioux City.Later, it comments that he was soon to be let out of a "German" prison.I have NO idea what that is all about. Is there a "German" community close by, perhaps?Seems unlikely that he ended up in prison in Europe in such a short time.Maybe he was an overachiever... 8-)

Anyway, I have the family name reasonably fleshd out but R.T. is a little sketchy.Does anyone know of any references that I could look up in the Wakefield area that might let a little more light in concerning Bob Kneebs?
