Hi Janet!
3 Names on your surname list have caught my interest.I have had no luck in tracking them down; they all immigrated from Germany (as yet I don't know exactly where) & settled in Cleveland, OH.
1) Frederick Wodrich-born 3-17-1863 Germany;died 3-21-1940 in Cleveland, OH.1900 OH Census states he immigrated in 1883.It also lists his mother, Anna (born 1837) living with him. Also states she was widowed & had 4 children born, 4 alive in 1900.His death certificate did not list a mother or father.(He was my GGrandfather.)
2) Bittel (could this be a variation of Beutel?)Fred's wife was Marie (Mary) Beutel born 1869 Germany;died 1926 Cleveland. Her death certificate lists father as William Beutel & mother as Caroline Meinke.
3)Meincke (could this be my Meinke listed above?)This spelling came from Marie's death certificate. My Caroline Meinke was born 1835 Germany; died 1922 Cleveland. Her death certificate lists August Meinke as father and Charlotte Dettman as mother.
My fingers are crossed; I am anxiously awaiting your reply!
Paula
