Source, "HISTORY OF CLARK CO, OH, 1881" by W.H. Beers & Co.
Page 510 only mentions MCCLUNG HUFFMAN, saying that on March 28, 1868, a conference was held in regards to organizing a new Baptist church; Trinity Baptist Church, Springfield, Clark co, OH with the following officials: Rev. J.R. Baumes; Clerk: J.J. Tuttle; Treasurer: MCCLUNG HUFFMAN; Deacons: A.O. Hayward and J.J. Tuttle; Trustees: LEWIS HUFFMAN, Jacob Gram and J.J. Tuttle.
Page 849, has more about LEWIS HUFFMAN (was hoping to see kinship, such as brothers, between him and McClung).... said Lewis was a native of VA, born 1810, his parents Herbert W & Sarah (Arthur) HUFFMAN and that they came to this county in 1816 and settled in Springfield township. The mother,Sarah, died in 1843. They had 6 sons, 1 daughter.... (but it did not name the children!)LEWIS HUFFMAN, married 1840 to Elizabeth J DONNEL, dau of James Donnel; bought a farm; members of Trinity Baptist Church. Lewis and Elizabeth had 3 children: Mrs Thomas C Ackerson, Mrs C.W. Morris and J.Donnel.They also raised an adopted daughter, Maggie.
pg 988, had a REUBAN HUFFMAN, farmer in New Moorefield. It said this Reuban was the son of an early pioneer of Clark County, JACOB HUFFMAN, his wife was Catharine HUFFMAN. Jacob died Dec 1, 1842 in his 71st year; Catharine died Aug 31,1866 in her 80th year. They had 10 children- 5 living at the time of the book was created- Henry, Reuban, Martha, Rachel and Samuel.Said Reuban was their 6th child, born May 6, 1818, married 1841 to Ann Tennant and had 11 children.
