Sheri, thank you for forwarding that information about Samuel and Betsey Mullen.Edward Mullen, the presumed father of Samuel, arrived from Ireland in 1816; thus, it's plausible for Samuel to have been the eldest son, born to the marriage of Edward to Anna Tinsley in Chester County, PA.Inspired by your lead, I also found a burial records for Samuel and Betsey (Elizabeth).They had had three children who died in 1878, so now I'm wondering what kind of epidemic hit Trumball County in that year.
