Wagon Train from Col Co to the west in 1834

There was one particular wagon train that I am searching information concerning. Does anyone know if there is a local resource from the 1830s giving dates of wagon trains passing through the area or readying to leave the area??? Records may have names of the capt of the wagon train and possibly others on the team and possibly also names of family members traveling on the train. Is there a book or other resource for this kind of information for a wagon train leaving or passing through Col Co, headed west, at least as far as Illinois? Have newspapers survived?Thank you for any help locating this kind of information.
