“Cemetery Inscriptions of Highland County, Ohio” by David and Jane McBride, copyright 1954, page 334 shows a George W. Roe (1846-19270 buried in Greenfield Cemetery, Madison Twp., too late to be your George.

“Marriage Records of Highland County, Ohio (1805-1880)” by David and Jane McBride, copyright 1962 shows:

Judith Baley to John McDole issued license on 26 July 1833. Apparently license was not returned and perhaps the marriage never took place.

Julia Bailey to B. B. Hornish on 27 July 1874. B. B. is the only Hornish in this book other than George's wife in 1878. B. B. was married in 1865 to Julia Elster.



“Death Records of Highland County, Ohio (1867-1908)” by Genevieve Breakfield. Taken from Probate Court records. Page 175 has a James Roe, age 79, died 30 Sep 1898 in Rainsboro, Paint Twp.

“Highland County Marriages (1880-1900)” by Genevieve Breakfield (1993) has the following:

Lizzie H. Rowe to Daniel W. Boyle, 18 May 1881.

Lizzie A. Rowe to Eugene E. Chaney on 10 Aug 1897.

Anna Rowe to George W. Russell on 18 Feb 1892.
