James Miller wasborn on December 23, 1818 in East Newark, Licking County, Ohio.He died on March 9, 1888.He was married to Sylvina Morton Elwell on December 2, 1844.She was born in Northport, Maine on March 1, 1828 and diedAugust 29, 1908 in Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio.They had thirteen children total

I have birth and death dates for most of the children.
I know froma biagraphical sketch that James was the son ofCharles Miller, Esq who came to Ohio from Pennsylvania at a very young age. The other children of Charles Miller were Enoch, John, Job, Charles, William and Samuel, all of whom except Charles Miller, who lived in Newark, and Samuel Miller, of Davenport, Iowa was dead at the time the sketch was written. Sylvina Morton Elwell, his wife, was the daughter of William Elwell and Hannah Morton Elwell. I have more on this family if you are interested as well as obituaries for many of their children.
