By Barbara Wright July 31, 2007 at 07:39:56

From Article by Shannon Harsh pub. Alliance, OH, Review 6/21/2007.Cemetery location: Deerfield, OH, Portage Co.
More than 200 years ago, the body of a 4-year old Native American boy b. 1798 was laid to rest in what is now known as the Deerfield Cemetery [in 1802], ... THE BOY'S FATHER, JOHN HENDRICKS, WAS A NATIVE AMERICAN WHO LIVED ON THE BANK OF THE MAHONING RIVER WITH HIS WIFE AND 2 SONS.

I am researching the HENDRICKS surname. Is there any information published re: the Native American's living on the Mahoning River bank -- most likely Mohawk or Seneca?I need to learn how John HENDRICKS acquired his surname.Barbara of Edgewater, MD (born & raised in Columbiana Co. OH)
