Ioan Muresan - Ohio
Ladies, Gentlemen,
I am not really a genealogy buff, but I promised my best friend that I will try to find out something about her great-grandfather, Ioan (or Ion, or John?) Muresan.
I would be very grateful if some kind souls would help me with this task. Dare I hope that perhaps somebody even knows something about this person?
My friend knows the story from her grandmother (long deceased)and it goes like this:
Ioan Muresan was a Romanian from Transylvania (at the time under Hungarian domination, now part of Romania).
He was married and had 3 children. He also had a brother who had immigrated to the US years before and was established in Ohio. This brother called him to come to America to help him manage his business and inherit it, since he had no issue. Ioan Muresan immigrated to the US in 1904, leaving behind his family. Over the years, he sent a lot of money home, since he was quite well-off. His wife never wanted to follow him to the US as she was wealthy in her turn.
In 1933 Ioan Muresan died. His 3 children received considerable amounts of money as inheritance. The family received also his death certificate which stated that he was buried in "Youngetown, OH", together with a picture from his funeral. And this is all we know...
Thank you in advance for any help you may give me,
ML
