Soon it will be 3 years since I first posted a message here, looking for my friend's great-grand father, Ioan Muresan. Although 2 people were kind enough to try to help, there was no real breakthrough. Recently, my friend obtained some more information, so here I am, trying again.
Here is the text of my original post with additions and corrections:
"Ioan Muresan (Christian name might also be given as Ion or Janos or John) was a Romanian from Transylvania, born in Morut village, in Bistrita Nasaud county(at the time under Hungarian domination, now part of Romania).
He was married and had 3 children. He also had a brother who had immigrated to the US years before and was established in Ohio. This brother called him to come to America to help him manage his business (lumber mill? furniture factory?) and inherit it, since he had no issue. Ioan Muresan left Romania around 1904 (but might have arrived in the US even as late as 1912), leaving behind his family. Over the years, he sent a lot of money home, since he was quite well-off. His wife never wanted to follow him to the US as she was wealthy on her own, owned property and a dairy business.
In 1915 Ioan Muresan died - probably on 15 august 1915(initially, the year of death that I was given was 1933, then changed to 1917). His 3 children received (in about 1925)considerable amounts of money as inheritance (family history talks of $300 000 - at that time!). The family also received his death certificate which stated that he was buried in "Youngetown, OH", together with a picture from his funeral. The family also has a document of succession (inheritance? probate?) with a registration number: "G 4958 / 4 -1917" And this is all we know..."

I would appreciate enormously each and any crumb of information that anybody might be able to give me, since all my (amateur) efforts on the Internet were unsuccessful.
Thanking you in advance,
ML
