This is indeed puzzling.

The 1870 census shows both John and Elizabeth living in Clinton Township, Shelby County near Sidney.Elizabeth died just a year later and her obituary from a July 1871 Pennsylvania newspaper says she died "near Sidney."Yet there's no death certificate in the Shelby County courthouse records (probate).

John died in 1875 in Michigan while visiting family - but there's no death certificate in the Michigan county in which he passed - however there IS one in Shelby County which lists his residence as Dinsmore Township when he passed.Family notes say he was returned to Ohio for burial.

I'm running out of places to look.If anyone has a theory as to where I should look I'm very open to suggestions.
