Jewell E. Pruitt
Jewell E. Pruitt, 92, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr.
Charles Price officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery
by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

Mrs. Pruitt was born in Grayson County and moved from Clovis, N.M., to
Canyon in 1946. She was practical nurse at Neblitt Hospital in Canyon
and Underwood Clinic in Amarillo. She was a member of First Baptist
Church in Canyon, the First Baptist Church choir and Canyon Senior
Citizens.

She married Charley Pruitt in 1927 at Mangum, Okla. Preceding her in
death were her husband in 1981; two daughters, Nina Marie Gray in 1972
and Othella F. Adcock in 1998; and a son, Boe Hollis in 1996.

Survivors include two sisters, Fern Newton of Canyon and Ira Watson of
DeKalb; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, Music
Department, 17174 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015.
