I've obtained a copy of Boe's obituary from the Amarillo Public Library, but it is not online. His obituary claims that he was born in Mangum.

I've also discovered that Boe was 'claimed' as a son by Charley Pruitt and by Louisia Maude Hollis in their obituaries. The first is not surprising ... it may have been the "right thing to do" for Charley to consider his wife's first-borne son to be part of his family, but the second is unusual. Louisia was Jewell's aunt ... her mother's sister ... and also her step-mother as Louisia also married Jewell's father! In Louisia's obituary she 'promoted' Boe from grand-nephew to son.
