Hi Eileen,
I looked for Edward's death in Oregon, California, Utah and Nevada but didn't find anything for him not even in the Censuses. He might have died soon after their divorce.
I looked through all the Censuses of the family members thinking he might have gone to live with one of his siblings but he didn't appear with any of the familes.
I can send you this Census info if you're interested.
However, I did find something interesting. Mary Cameron Anderson married a Henderson. In 1880 she, her new husband and Bell were living in San Joaquin, Sacramento Co., CA.
J. Henderson, b. OH, 50.
Mary Henderson, b. PA, 54.
Bell M. Anderson, stepdau, b. CA, 20, father born=OH, mother born=PA.
In 1900 Mary Henderson was living w/ Bell and her husband Wilbur Hatch.
Wilbur M. Hatch, b. May 1852, ME, druggist.
Maria B, wife, b. CA Nov 1859, had one child who died before 1900.
Mary Henderson, motherlaw, b. PA, April 1825, widow, had given birth to seven children and six alive in 1900. That one deceased child might have been Edward.
I've also asked about three people who had parts of your family in family trees to contact you. They might be cousins!
I just don't know how you can search more effectively without knowing where he died. Try again in a year. The search engines get better all the time. Successful Searching!
