James A. 'Jim' Casner/Carsner (born 12-1839 MO)
I am searching for information on James A. "Jim' Casner/Carsner who was born circa 12-1839 in MO.
He was one of 11 sons of Henry Casner and Jincy Jane (Fields) Casner.Henry & Jincy lived intermittnetly between MO and IA (between 1822 and 1852).Henry died in 1847 in IA.In 1852 Jincy Jane Casner migrated to OR with seven of her twelve children.
I have pretty well documented what became of all the children with the exception of James A. 'Jim" Casner/Carsner and one brother. The name is spelled both ways (often spelled both ways on one document). Most descendants of Jinch Jane Casner who remained in the Pacific Northwest generally spelled the name CARSNER by 1900.
James Casner signed DLCs in 1864 in Linn County, OR as a witness.I have a copy of a court minute where on 3-29-1865 in Linn County ORan indictment for murder against him was dismissed (also have a copy of a newspaper clipping about this).
Between 1-18-1856 and 6-21-1856 he served in Company B, 2nd recruiting battalion during the Indian Wars in OR.
On 5-19-1858 in Linn County, OR he married Clementine Hayworth.
On 12-1-1883 in Grant County, OR he married Sarah R. Olney.
I do not know if he had children with either wife.I do not know what became of the two wives.
I would like to make contact with anyone who can shed some light on what became of these three people.
