Obituary-- Jackson Walker-- Dec. 1927

I didn't find an obituary or death notice but did find a funeral notice and it is as follows:
The Morning Oregonian, Tuesday, December 13, 1927, section 1, page 20, col. 7, Funeral Notices:
"WALKER--In this city, Dec 11, Jackson Walker, aged 66 years, father of Cecli Walker of Portland. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday), at 2:30 P, M., under the auspices of Orient Lodge, I.O.O.F., at the conservatory chapel of the East Side Funeral Directors, E. 6th and Alder sts. Friends invited. Interment at Rose City cemetery."
(research note: the name of the child looked like Cecli but could be Cecll.)
I did check the microfiche for the Oregonian Newspaper. It usually lists names of people, palces and things which have had articles, including obituraies, written about them. Jackson Walker wasn't among them.
I checked some of the available Polk's Portland City Directories and found the following. There was only one Jackson Walker but there were some with only the initial "J".
1906, page 1107
WALKER, Jackson, delicatessen 183 3d, rms 211 1/2 2d
1912, page 1515
WALKER, Jackson restaurant 183 3d, h 503 E 21st
1915, page 1226
WALKER, Jackson (Mary) delicatessen 194 4th, h 503 E 21st
1920, page 1467
WALKER, Jackson rec kpr The Maccabees, h 503 E 21st
1921, page 1313
WALKER, Jackson sec Marsh & McCabe Co., h 503 E 21st
1924, page 1676
WALKER, Jackson mgr Or Labor Agcy, h 1359 E Flanders
Using the above city directory information, I found Jackson Walker in the 1920 Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon Census as a 58 year old male who immigrated to the U.S., from Canada, in 1870 and was naturalized in 1873. Living with him was his daughter Cecil, age 24, single, born in Oregon, with mother and father both listed as being born in Canada. They were living at 503 21st. They are listed as dwelling and family #5.
In the1910, I found a Robert J. Walker living at 503 21st in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, dwelling #304 and family #309. He is listed as age 49, M1, married at age 20, born in Canada, both father and mother born in Canada, with a profession/trade listed as Restaurant. The wife was listed as Mary J. age 51, M1, married at age 20, no children born to her, shewas born in Illinois, father born in Wisconsin, and mother born in Minnesota, no occupation listed. There is a Lulu Johns, boarder age 16, single listed, born in Oregon, parents both born in Washington, and occupation looks like "Nanie." There wasn't any listing of a child living at the address so no listing of Cecil as daughter of Robert J. Walker. This "might" be the same person as Jackson Walker. (The information was on a "supplemental" census page that looked like page 14B, E.D. 182, lines 64-66.)
If you would like the photocopy I printed of the funeral notice, please contact me at the e-mail address GenForum has for me. Please include your snail mail address.
