Can't be sure of a connection, but I am researching Johnsons who came from Spartanburg, SC around the 1830's, believed to have followed relatives south. Our Paul Johnson was a Methodist minister, and some of the names of the children you list are repeated in his line. He had 3 known children...Catherine, James C., and John A. (we believe the "A" to be for Alexander, based on that name repeating further down the line). Paul was b. 1789 in Colleton District, SC and married Mary "Polly" Hiers. According to an old article written by a man in Coonbottom (now Concord, FL), Paul had a brother who was also a minister and who traveled....I don't have my notes right here, but his name was either James or John..."Weeping" James or John, and he appears to have traveled more on the western side of the state, while Paul traveled the eastern side. I will be happy to share what I have if you think there might be a connection. E-mail me direct at GenData7@aol.com.
p.s. I think we are connected a little further down the line, too...your name is too uncommon for this to be a coincidence....isn't it? :)
