I am trying to find out more about my ancestors. My great great grandmother's name was Annie Laurie McGee. She worked at the Old Hotel in Pelzer,SC. I think that she may have been born in 1871. She worked at the mill in 1883. That would have made her 12 years old when she worked at the mill if she was born in 1871 but they did have child labor in some of the Pelzer mills. My grandmother told me that Annie Laurie is Irish. I don't know exactly how much. I would really like to know about Annie Laurie's parents. Annie Laurie married a Herbert. They had children. One named Mary. She is my great grandmother. She married a Davenport. They had children. They're names are Roy Davenport(still living), Charles Davenport(still living), and Barbara Davenport(deceased) she is my grandmother. Barbara married Charles Rogers(deceased.I could go on and on. We have Satterfields, Huffs,Rogers,Davenports, McGee's,Herberts in the family. They're are alot of people that my family is connected to by marriage. Most of the family and ancestors I think live/lived in SC. I have this book. It's called "Memories Of Pelzer". It's by Bill Cobb and Gene Welborn. It has tons of names in it of people who live/lived in Pelzer. I would really love to know more about my ancestors, especially Annie Laurie McGee. Oh and Annie Laurie had a sister(pretty sure it's her sister) named Sallie McGee. She married a Dendy. We'll thank you for taking the time to read all of this.
