My ancestor Hans George Kersh came from Germany through the port of Rotterdam. He left Rotterdam on the ship St. Andrews on 2-16-1744 and landed in America at Charleston, SC. His three sons were bound out to pay for the families passage. He settled in Orangeburg District with his family. In 1749, he received a land grant from King George II for 250 acres in Saxe Gotha township. In 1751 he deeded this land to his son Conrad. If anybody knows where his grave is I would love to hear of it. Hans son, Andrew, served in the 6th South Carolina Regiment during the Revolution. Andrew is said to be buried in the Shiloh Methodist Church cemetery in Orangeburg Dist. Can anybody tell me where this is and how to get there from the nearest town?
