I too am looking for a Hendricks/Hendrix. My 3rd G-grandmother was Elizabeth J. Hendricks born 7 Oct 1831 in Hardeman co. TN died 7 Feb 1887, buried in the Harmony Baptist Church Cem. in Haywood co. In the 1880 census it shows she was born in TN & both parents born in VA.
On the 12 Jan 1849 in Hardeman co. she married Bedford Thomas who was born 12 Jul 1826 in either TN or NC and died 21 Sep 1899.
Elizabeth & Bedford appear in the 1850 Hardeman co. census. Living nearby is a widowed Mary E. Hendrix born about 1808 in VA with children:
Branch,Ann,Martha E.F.,Harrison,Sarah,Henry, & Margaret. Also living nearby is a James J. Thomas who married a Nancy E. Hendrick in 1847 & their 2 children Sarah C. Thomas & Sakilda/Lakilda.
Curiously, there is a marriage between a John Hendrix, born about 1803 in VA who died between 1846-1850 in Hardeman county, and an Elizabeth Morgan on the 25 Oct 1828 in Hardeman co.
