Searching Surnames in Tennessee

HENRY: LIGEARD, WILLIAM, JOHN AND JASPER

With a lot of help from web friends, I have located my grandfather, John S. HENRY,
his brother, Jasper and their father, William on the 1880 Census of Putnam County.The name
I was given for William's father is Ligeard HENRY, who married Nancy THOMAS. His son
William b. 1850, married Frances WATSON b. 1844.
John S HENRY married Florence MARTIN, (in the 1880s). She was the sister of Julius,
Spurgeon,"Doc", Ett, W. Green, Christopher Columbus, Nancy and John Gordon MARTIN.
They were children of Julius Caesar MARTIN and Fannie WATSON.From family stories, I
know they lived in several counties of East-Middle Tennessee.John S. and Florencemoved to
Nashville in the early 1900's and lived on Main Street, where my grandmother ran a tourist home.

DOUGLAS, SUMMERS, TOLLIVER

DOUGLAS, Bryant Henderson, b May 1847 in Beech Grove, Tennesseem. Sarah Elizabeth
SUMMERSTheir children were: Robert Lewis, Florence, William, Victory, Josephine, Mandy,
Jimmie, and Mindy.I found them on the 1900 Rutherford County Census.

In 1894,Robert Lewis DOUGLAS, b March 1873,marriedLucy Talent TOLLIVER b 1876.
Her parents were John and Elizabeth TOLLIVER.Robert and Lucy's Children were: Maude,
Hesker, Lulan, Harry, Martha, Robert, Beatrice, and Russell DOUGLAS.

The DOUGLASES came from Beech Grove in Coffee County and moved to Nashville around
1900.Robert Lewis DOUGLAS was my grandfather.Would love to learn more about them.
Some of the family lived in Rutherford County and Cannon for awhile.

RANEY, PARNELL:Humphreys, Perry County-TN

Leonard Rains RANEY was my children's grandfather.His father's name was James Samuel
RANEY, b December 1875 who married in 1896 Lula Anne PARNELL b. October 1879.Their
children were: Mavis b 1898, Leonard Rains, b 1900, and James Loyal b 1908).
Lula Anne was the sister of "Wendy" Parnell, wife, Patty,who lived in Denver, TN with his
mother, Josephine Parnell.I do not know her maiden name.Wendy and Patty had one child. The Raneys all moved to Nashville in the early forties.

My children and I would like any information on these families.
