Re: Davenport

Oh don't I wish we had a Davenport connection, but I'm still stuck in Jackson Co, TN.Joseph, his wife and first child are on the 1860 census, and then he was killed in the Civil War.I haven't even been able to connect him to a Davenport family there in TN.Jackson Co. was a "burned" county, and no land records prior to 1870.And, no probates to see if he was mentioned in records as an heir, or his children were heirs to a Davenport grandparent.

I went through the 1850 census looking forhim when he would have been "at home" with his parents, but nothing concrete on him.I even tried neighboring counties, too.Well, that's what makes all this so much fun, right?(^_^)
