Building on Sandra's information, be sure to click on TX Deaths 1890-1976. (Acually TX didn't really begin keeping vital records until 1903) You will need to sign up to view digitized copy of original death record.You can make a copy of that document, too.
Upper right hand corner, click on sign in, and you don't have to worry they will not use your email for anything else, it's just to have control of those who would do wrong things on their site. Always someone who will make it hard for the rest of us'uns.
