Marriage record at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick Co., Maryland.
Kuntz Henrich Schaeffern Susanna 1783 Nov 12 1783 Balthasar Kuns son, Rockingham Co., Georg Schaeffer's daughter, Loudon Co.
There may be a connection between Balser Koontz of Frederick Co.VA, and Rockingham Co.VA, and the Henry Koontz m. to Dorothy Federkiel in Frederick Co., Maryland because of this marriage record recently found in the
Evangelical Lutheran Church records of Frederick Co., MD.
Apparently Balser took his son, Henry (b. abt 1763 and m. to Susannah Schaeffer)over to Frederick Co. MD to be married to Susanna Schaeffer / Shaffer.
Henry Koontz m. to Dorothy Federkiel had sons Henry and Balthazar born in the 1760's. Maybe our Balthasar and Henry m. Dor. Federkiel are brothers with sons of the same names. Please email me if you know anything about these Koontz's or Schaeffer's besides what is easily retrievable on the internet.
3 Descendants of Henry Koontz m. Susannah have taken DNA tests and are matches. We are also matches to George Kuhns b. 1811 and m. to Elizabeth Birkey and had lived in Somerset Co., PA.DNA testing not only tells you who you do match, it tells you who you don't match also. If you are a Koontz, please consider this testing for yourselves and other genealogists. Thank you, Cheryl Bloomfield
