Building Berlin, 1851-1857

Does anyone know anything about the cabinet maker's trade in Berlin, Green Lake County, Wisconsin, during the early phase of Boom Town construction, 1851-1857??

My great-grand-father was there, but left in late 1857 or early 1858, his first child was born at Berlin 3rd March 1857.I have some slight reason to suspect that he arrived in 1851.If that is true, then he must have married there.I am searching for any clues about the bride's family.

The names will not be of much help on this one; there is a John Miller on every page and Sarah Long is not much better.
