My source for knowing Elizabeth's last name was Eagan is the Margaret Mullen Darby descendents who have older family members who apparently knew the Eagan relatives at one point and the hard thing about tracking them down is their last name is NOT Eagan as they descended from a female Eagan who of course has a different last name now. The problen is that those elderly relatives are gone now and nobody wrote down what they knew. I posted on the Iowa County site in hopes that some of those Eagan descendents might be looking for Elizabeth's family. I have Elizabeth on one of the censuses saying she was from Cork and indicating that she immigrated through New York. The problem is that she was probably born around 1830 and married in 1851. The 1840 and 1850 censuses are very sketchy. If you go by Irish naming patterns, her mother should be Margaret and her father should be James. To add to all those difficulties, Francis and Elizabeth were divorced in Mineral Point around 1880. It was extremely acrimonious and caused a huge rift in the family. A lot of the history and relationships disappeared when the family broke up.
