HANRAHAN, RILEY, FALLON, LAPPIN OR BRENNAN
Put my research on back burner for many years. Now I have dusted off my binders, folders and speadsheets and ready to begin again. One of my last answered inquires was 12/3/03 from George McDonald. He stated my maternal great grandfather: John Hanrahan was a Civi War Vet. He was born in Ennis Co Clare. Before his death in 1929, John was the oldest civil war vet still alive in Lafayete County and quite an interesting character. He had an intersting history in the war. This included a short period as a POW of the confederates, His wife, my great grandfather Teresa Riley dauther of John Riley and Mary McKeon. John Riley and Mary McKeon- John was born in Co Longford, Ireland and Mary in or near the Parish of Foyran, Weatmeath Ireland. They both died in Lafayette Couty WI. Mary McKeon had a brother (Michael) and sister (Martha) who I believed died in or near Darlington. Martha died about 1868 and (as far as I can determine) is the oldest burial in the Holy Rosary Cemetery at Darlington. Our family names in the same branch would include Hanrahan, Fallon, Brennan, Lappin and numerous others.Plus the name McKeon (or McEwen-as it was sometime spelled in our family records) is common.
I am looking for any information on any of the branches listed.
