My great-great grandfather William Abbott was the seventh child of Harrison and Frances Abbott. He was born in then Campbell County, Georgia and in what would now be part of Douglas County, Georgia.Around 1872 he married Frances Louisa Miller who was the daughter of James Miller (born June 1, 1828, Georgia) and Mahalias Elizabeth Camp (born 1835, Georgia and died 1922, Douglas Co., Georgia).Elizabeth Camp's family can be traced back to seventeenth century England (see pedigree charts).James and Mahalias Miller are buried at Bright Star Church cemetery at Chapel Hill, Douglas County, Georgia.James has a Confederate marker over his grave.Tom Allums a descendent of William Abbott believes that his middle name was Mathew.William was probably a farmer all of his life. His photograph suggests that he was a tall slim individual with a large bushy mustache. Frances was a small woman with a round face.William Mathew Abbott and Frances Louisa Miller are buried in Mt.Pisgah church cemetery on South Gordon Road, Cobb county, Georgia, next to their daughter Maude L. and her husband John J.Allums. William Abbott was often called Babe; I have no idea where this name originated.
