1810 Laurens Co SC James ACrumbia1-0-1-0-12-1-1-0-1 1 male under 10[grandson James], 1 male 16-26[son James], 1 male over 45[papa James], 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-26, 1 female over 45, 16 slaves
I do not know who all the females were. Interesting that "ACrumbia" as it echos papa James's gravestone which has merely the initials JAC. I've heard that mere initials is indication of Quakerism; also heard that papa James gave land for Quaker burial ground.
The will of James Abercrombie leaves various items to "my grandson James" including a horse with this stipulation: "... when the said James is twenty years old ...."
This makes it pretty clear that there was not an additional James b.abt.1860 in the loop -- merely grandson b.abt.1805, son b.abt.1785, and the will writer who is said to have been born in 1740, though I suggest it may have been later, maybe 1750.
