I'm doing some historical research on a musician whose earliest memory was growing up on a farm in or near Laurens, S.C., around 1896-1900. He called it "Mr. Abercrombie's farm" and said it was a "big plantation." The musician's parents were tenant farmers.
I've found a John A. Abercrombie in the 1900 census who had a farm in Laurens County.
Anyone know if he or another Abercrombie would have had a big plantation? Or any other Abercrombies who might have? thanks.
