just started a research project on a very intersting lady as I have acquired her WW1 Service Medals.
Ailsa Lesley Abercrombie served in Macedonia/Balkans/Serbia with the French Red Cross.
I have so far uncovered her Ellis Island Records of many voyages to New York 1893 (3 years old) with her father J H (Jas?)and her Mother S E (Sarah) and sister Ruth.
1910 ex Cherbourg on the Oceanic now declared as a US citizen
1911 on the Anchor line CALENDONIA now show as a "CREW MEMBER" ! Her mum and Dad are also on this voyage and give a New Jersey Address
1922 Ex Southampton on the Canopic now giving her address as reigate Surrey England and intending to visit an Aunt Mrs R B Symington of 2 Park Place Newark New Jersey.
Clearly a lot to uncover about this lady her frequent cross Atlantic trips have me intrigued and why did she join the FRENCH RED CROSS in WW1 and not the American or Scottish organisations?
Any information gratefully received would like to do her medals justice with some additional information thank you.
