Hi Tony, Like so many others I followed the Abercrombie family back to Medieval Scotland thru Ancestry. Because things didn't seem to add up in the 1700's I started doing research on my own when I found your posts on the family. I think I've read each and every post including #1369 and #1371 (actually multiple times), making notes along the way. (THANK YOU for your dedication to this 'cause' by the way). Problem is my records indicated that Hannah Abercrombie (my descendant/connection), born circa 1779 (married to John P. Thomasson), was thought to be the daugher of James A. Abercr. (Esq). According to what I'm reading she's more likely the daughter of James born in 1760 (mother??). I'm also seeing James (1760) is the son of (now infamous) James (1740), mother - Hannah Pickard. I think I've got the 1740 family down pat but if this is the case, there is a gaping hole between James (1740) and the James listed as the end of the road... born 1709 in Fife, Scotland. Seems I'm missing a generation or I'm totally off the track now. Is there any SINGLE source/chart/list of the entire family during the 1700 and early 1800's starting with our James of 1709? God knows it would sure be appreciated!
