Tony,
Let's discuss the children of James b ca 1709.
I have compiled a list of children attributed to our James. In my tree I have only included those that I have found documentation, wills, census, land records and yes my famlies tradition. So far the only names I have as issue are Rebecca, John, James ca 1740, Christie and Isaac. The following are others I have seen in other trees, which only include the given name and year of birth:
Alexander b ca 1748
Reubin b ca 1730
Thomas b ca 1731
Isabella b ca 1734
Hugh b ca 1736
Mary b ca 1737.By the way most claim born in Laurens Co.
If you or anyone else has additional information such as marriage, children, a will, land records, anything substantial, I wish they would share the information on any of the 6 individuals listed.I have searched and searched online, through what books I have been able to access and found nothing.
Next there is Isaac b ca 1748.Here we go again. He relocates to Anson Co., NC and in 1780 marries Mary Pounds. They have 7 documented children. Here again as with James ca1740, did Isaac wait till he was at least 30 to get married? We can assume all we want one way or the other, but it all comes down to what we can prove. We have both James ca 1740 will and Isaac's will. The children that are named is all we have at this point. If these two were married before do we believe they have totally left these children out of their wills?Maybe they were all dead, maybe there was some kind of family feud and they both disowned those from a first marriage.
