Hi Elizabeth, yes that is the John B. Abernathy, father of my Frederick and your David that I was referring to. I joined D.A.R. on him in 1999,#788860 supplemental to my William White, main number on that account with D.A.R.

For John B. I have in notes; I have that some of our family began spelling their name with e instead of a in this generation.
I have that he is also listed in D.A.R. as Patriot as he gave oats and brandy to the soldiers after his tour ended.
He is listed in Virginia Publick Service Claims, Vol. I, pp 154, 157, compiled by Janice L. Abercrombie and Richard Slatten. Later, Ginny K.
