Hello to my cuzzins; I have a book co-written by Arthur Max Coppage in 1975. Max was a contributing editor for Highlander Magazine for many years. Book called Coppage-Coppedge Chronicle 1542-1975. On page 44:
Edward Coppage as son of Richard, we know for sure. If we are correct in our surmise about two other sons, John and William, then Avis Embury (their mother) herself, in her old age, went with her son, Edward , to Virginia and died.
Family: 123 and possibly D. A Sarah Cubishe who became wife of Robert Ebernathell (Scottish Abernathy) presumably a Worcester prisoner shipped to Virginia ( Prince George Co). This book indicates they believe that Sarah was married to a Coppage and had a dau Sarah Coppage that Robert gave the heifer to when he married the mother. They then had a son named Robert.
When I first began my family research and did not realize how important sources were, I found an article that said Robert found John Coppage dying with his wife by his side in VA and later married the widow who had some land. That is how he did so well so fast after he served his endenture. Needs researched to locate source.?????
I joined The National Society of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims on our Robert Abernathy last year.
