Your grandfather Leroy ABRAMS (b. about 1903, WA) was the son of Orlin M. ABRAMS (b. May 1876, IL) and Elnora (nee unknown, b. about 1878, IL). The parents of this Orlin M. ABRAMS was Francis (Frank) M. ABRAMS (b. Jan. 1842, IL, d. before 1920) and Sarah A. Weygandt (b. Dec. 1847, OH; lived in Decatur, Macon Co. IL). The parents of this Francis M. ABRAMS was Levi ABRAMS (b. about 1808, OH; lived in Decatur, Macon Co. IL) and Mary A. (nee unknown, b. about 1813, MD). The parents of this Levi ABRAMS were Josiah ABRAMS (b. about 1780, PA; early settler in Decatur, Macon Co. IL) and Nancy Davis. I believe this Josiah ABRAMS is quite likely the son of Henry ABRAMS Jr. (b. 1753 in Rockingham Co. VA, d. 28 Nov 1821, OH). This Henry ABRAMS Jr. is the son of Henry ABRAMS Sr. of Turkeyfoot, a Revolutionary War vet whom you will find much discussed on this forum by a simple keyword search on the term "Turkeyfoot". Anyway, the connection from you all the way back to Josiah ABRAMS in Decatur, Macon Co. IL is easy to make with the online census databases and Macon county historical accounts.
If you read the various recent messages about Henry ABRAMS Sr. of Turkeyfoot, Sommerset Co. PA, you will see that there is a DNA testing project going on right now. Please consider getting yourself tested. DNA testing could help confirm or deny the connection to Henry ABRAMS Sr. and might help define other branches of this extended ABRAMS family. If you really are descended from Henry ABRAMS Sr. through the son Henry ABRAMS Jr., as I suspect, then your DNA test results would be of great interest.
