Re: Samuel Y. Acker m. Catherine Carnes 1846
Hope this helps.
I have Samuel Y. Acker and Catherine Carnes living in Groveland unti 1848 and they mover to Potter County Pa. Where Samuel cleared a farn on Sweden Hill. In 1864 he volunteered to serve his country in the Civil War. In later years he moved to a smaller farn on Prouty Creek in Borie area. Both he and Catherine are buried in the family plot in Sweden Hill Cemetery. Sam died in 1901 and Catherine about a year or so later. They had 12 children. Adelia Ann, Orlie E., William T., Silas Jason (where you have Judson), Hartense, Ella, Kathryn, Ernest, Grant, Jessie, Blanch and Helen. Also have some of who they married and dates of births and deaths. Hope this helps you. Who knows maybe we can help each other. As for father of Samuel Acker I have that as Silas Acker. Him and his wife also had a large family. But dont have anything else on them, sorry.
